May 30 was a circled day on the calander for the class of 2020 at Barneveld High School. It was their original graduation ceremony date. May 30 will still be special, but with a different twist for this year's senior class.

"I came to Barneveld when they were freshman so I got to see them through their whole high school career," said Erin Eslinger, the principal of Barneveld High School. "To see them grow 9th grade through 12th grade, I couldn't wait to see them graduate."

The talk of the town these days in Barneveld is the class of 2020. You are reminded of that when you drive into town. 33 yard signs with the faces of all seniors in the class.

The signs were made by Barneveld High School alumnis Shannon Wood, of Studio M Creations.

"It's pretty special knowing that our community is doing different things like this for us and making it as memorable as it can be," said Karley Moore. A senior at Barneveld.

It doesn't end with the yard signs for the class of 2020. This Saturday there will be a private diploma ceremony for the seniors followed by a parade are town for the whole community to honor the class.

Barneveld senior Claire Brindley said, "I've known since middle school that this was a good community because we used to be involved in state basketball. The pep rally's were insane for how small of a school we are. To see everyone come together, it's cool."

"Summer has already started at least in my mind," said Gavin Wishart, also a senior at Barneveld. "It's weird that I will be almost going back in time, graduating and redoing that high school experience."

Barneveld High School is aiming for an actual graduation ceremony on August 8.
