MADISON (WKOW) -- A man was arrested early Monday morning after he accidentally shot himself in the leg, according to Madison police.
Police and sheriffs officials found the injured man after responding to shots fired call near the Fairchild parking ramp around 2:15 a.m.
Deputies applied a tourniquet to his leg before he was sent to the hospital for treatment. Police say the man was cooperative and they determined he was intoxicated and a felony offender.
The man was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and intoxicated use of a firearm, according to police.
Police say they believe the man and the three friends walking with him at the time were a part of the protesters and looters in the downtown area Sunday night.
