TOWN OF BELOIT (WKOW) -- Police are investigating a suspicious fire that happened at the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office in the Town of Beloit on Sunday night.

Police say officers and firefighters were called to the office on 2920 Prairie Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. When they arrived they found a three-foot area burning on the exterior of the building and another small fire inside the building.

A police officer used a fire extinguisher to put out the outside fire. Fire crews went inside and found the building was full of smoke, but there was minimal damage inside, according to police.

Beloit Fire, Janesville Fire, City of Beloit Police Department, and the Rock County Sheriffs office assisted with the fire response.
