MADISON (WKOW) -- Artists are grabbing brushes and working to make things look better in downtown Madison after several nights of looting and destruction.

A group gathered in downtown Madison Tuesday morning to paint the boards covering up the windows of State Street businesses.

The're adding bright colors and positive messages.

"Something to give people a little love during these hard times," said artist Brooklyn Doby.

Doby and her friend, Ciara Nash, just graduated from the Edgewood College art therapy program.

They say they're happy to be able to give back to the city and be apart of a positive movement.
