Demonstrators gather on Capitol Square for fourth night despite rain

Night protest 2 6-2-20

MADISON (WKOW) -- The rain Tuesday night did not deter people from demonstrating on the steps of the Capitol building.

Dozens of people marched around the Capitol Square, then stopped on the State Street steps, where organizers led the group in chants of "I Can't Breathe" and the names of George Floyd, Sandra Bland and Tony Robinson.

The demonstrators defied a 9:30 p.m. curfew and a plea from Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway for people to stay home.

The demonstration ended shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
