OREGON (WKOW) -- People filled Waterman Triangle Park in Oregon Saturday morning to support their neighbors of color and to rally against racism in their community.
The gathering was called Stand Up and Lean In. People "stood up" to show support and "leaned in" to hear from some speakers. Dozens were there.
Eddu Oparie-Addoh spoke about his experience raising and empowering his children.
"We teach our kids that they're just as good as anybody in their classroom. So if you have that confidence, awareness coming from home, I think they can step out and live their lives to their possible best," he said.
People were asked to wear masks and bring their own signs. The event was also streamed live on Facebook.
