MADISON (WKOW)-- Stalzy's Deli on Atwood Avenue is preparing to reopen to dine in. Opening up the restaurant has been a long time coming for Stalzy's.

Last April, a fire in the kitchen of the deli shattered the front window and caused extensive damage to the interior. A year of hard-work went into rebuilding the deli, and just as it was set to reopen, the pandemic hit and they had to remain closed.

"Being a small business owner, I'm sure we are not alone that life throws a lot of curveballs at you," Co-owner Corbin Reynolds said. "I think that we're more resilient because of it."

"The support from the neighborhood and the community, it's like we can't just walk away," Co-owner Neil Stalboerger said. "We started something, we created something, and we have to continue it."

Stalzy's is currently open for curbside pick-up. They are going to see how the month of June goes before officially opening the dining room.
