Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers return after Afghanistan deployment

Wisconsin Army Guard Soldiers back in Wisconsin from Afghanistan deployment

MADISON (WKOW) -- About three dozen Wisconsin Army National Guard Soldiers arrived at Dane County Regional Airport Saturday following several months in Afghanistan.

The Wisconsin Army National Guard said that the soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry were deployed last July to performed a “guardian angel” mission, which meant they were provide assistance to the U.S. Army.

In April about 150 Army National Guard soldiers returned to Wisconsin. Approximately 300 Soldiers are still in Afghanistan.
