“Very high” UV index through the weekend

MADISON (WKOW) - Grab your sunglasses and sunblock, we have a bright trend ahead.

A cold front advances from the north which will cause a stray shower chance late-day.

On the backside of this boundary, we cool off through the weekend before summery temps return next week.

Cold front could spark a stray shower late-day

Plenty of sunshine with a UV index of 8, which is 'very high.' This means a sunburn is possible within 20-25 minutes.

Between 3-6 pm a stray shower is possible as a cold front passes through the area. But, most stay completely dry.

An isolated shower is possible as the cold front moves in from Lake Michigan. Highest chance for a spotty shower to develop will be far west and southwest.

Meanwhile, even cooler with temps in the upper 40s by pre-dawn Saturday.

Mostly sunny and cooler with a high around 70°.

Mostly sunny skies continue with temps in the low to mid 70s.

Partly sunny conditions as a warm front moves through our area causing an isolated shower chance. High temps will warm to the mid to upper 70s.

Partly sunny conditions with temps hotter in the mid 80s.

Partly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 80s. Stateline communities could get to 90°.

Another system develops bringing a few storm chances. As of now, it looks like the highest chance is later in the day.

Temps stay toasty in the mid to upper 80s.
