Police arrest 2 men for armed robbery, battery on State St.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery in the State Street area last week.

Madison police say a 37-year-old man was walking through Peace Park on June 18 when he spotted an unattended cell phone. He picked it up, left and when he returned he asked a few men if they had lost the phone.

The men couldn't describe the phone, but demanded it anyway. When the man refused, police say he was attacked, knocked to the ground and battered. The men then took the phone.

Police say much of the robbery was caught on a surveillance camera.

On Saturday, June 27, police arrested two men who now face charges in the incident.

Phillip A. Jordan faces armed robbery, disorderly conduct while armed and party to a crime battery.

Deonte L. Thomas was also arrested and faces charges including party to a crime armed robbery, party to a crime disorderly conduct while armed and battery.
