(WKOW) -- There's growing concern about COVID-19 and the Republican National Convention.
Jacksonville, Flordia had a record 767 cases in a single day; that's more in that single city than the entire state of Wisconsin.
RNC organizers say they're listening to local authorities to make sure the event is safe.
Wisconsin U.S. Senator Ron Johnson said, he's taking coronavirus seriously and hasn't decided whether he'll go.
"Yeah current state of affairs and exactly what my role would be and whether I'd really have any use or not, and what kind of social distancing, what kind of precautions are being taken," Johnson told our affiliate, WISN-TV.
Republicans moved a majority of the convention from Charlotte to Jacksonville to ensure the possibility of a large event in a 15,000 person capacity arena.
Meanwhile, Democrats have urged delegates to stay home and not travel to Milwaukee for the Democratic National Convention. Organizers have moved the scaled-down event from Fiserv Forum to the Wisconsin Center.
