Westbound beltline reopens after car fire

Beltline burned car

MADISON (WKOW) -- Lanes closed by a car fire at the Park Street exit along the westbound Beltline are back open.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reported the burning vehicle in a notification Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic cameras showed a fire truck on scene with a firefighter spraying water into the blackened car.

The response to the burning vehicle blocked the two left lanes at 3:46 p.m. A follow-up notification said the closure had been reduced to one lane. The lanes reopened at 4:36 p.m.

No injuries were reported to the Dane County 911 center.

Madison firefighters responded to the fire.
