BARABOO (WKOW) -- A vigil was held at the courthouse in Baraboo on Tuesday for Kodie Dutcher, who was found dead after her family reported her missing on Monday.
The 10-year-old girl's body was found in a corn field near her family's apartment on Tuesday morning.
During an emotional gathering in the rain, the group lit candles and laid flowers at the monument outside the courthouse. Selena Seibert helped organize the gathering. Seibert says it was inspiring to see people show up to pay respect and those who volunteered to be part of the search.
"On a personal level, to see community come together," said Seibert. "Like I said again last night, looking and searching for her and then to be here tonight, I think the community really needed it."
Organizers hope to hold another vigil that Dutcher's family members will be able to take part in.
