MADISON (WKOW) - High pressure slides out of the area today.
A shortwave trough moves in today bringing chances for isolated showers and storms throughout the afternoon into the evening.
Strong to severe storms are possible, with gusty wind and small hail the main threats. The SW corner of our viewing area is under a 'marginal' risk for Saturday afternoon into the evening. This is the lowest risk, a 1/5.
Showers should clear out overnight. Mostly sunny skies and dry weather returns for Sunday, due to high-pressure building back in from the west.
Winds out of the north this weekend will help push higher dew point values out of the region, and keep temperatures near seasonal values.
High temperatures today and tomorrow will be in the mid-to-low 80s. Dew point values will be in the low 60s. A big difference compared to the values we felt earlier this week, in the upper 60s even low 70s.
Temperatures remain mostly in the mid-to-upper 80s in the 7-day forecast, possibly spiking to 90 late next week
