MADISON (WKOW) -- A new public service announcement circulating statewide in Wisconsin urges people to do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19.

It started playing Monday morning.

The announcement has real people, not actors. Representatives from the health care, grocery and restaurant industries ask you to practice physical distancing, wash your hands and wear masks.

Dr. Aimee Becker, UW Health's chief medical officer, is one of the people featured in the message.

"There is the personal aspect. I have a family. I live in a community. We want to help everybody move back towards normal and so that message is really important for all of our communities to embrace," said Dr. Becker.

The goal of the PSA is to get Wisconsin through the pandemic as quickly as possible, while keeping workers, patients and customers safe.
