MADISON (WKOW) -- Earlier this year, the African easterly jet stream picked up dust from the Sahara desert, which slowed the 2020 hurricane season.
But things are starting to pick back up when Isaias becomes the ninth named tropical storm of 2020.
The National Hurricane Center says the storm will intensify to a tropical storm at some point Wednesday.
Tropical storms warnings will go in effect for Puerto Rico, Leeward islands and Virgin islands.
An early track has the storm impacting portions of Florida by Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The uncertainly remains if this storm will strengthen into a category one hurricane or remain a tropical storm.
