MADISON (WKOW)-- ESPN reported on Sunday that commissioners of the Power 5 conference held an emergency meeting to discuss growing concern over football and other fall sports amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Sources told ESPN, "a vast majority of Big Ten presidents have indicated that they would vote to postpone football season, hopefully to the spring."

Big Ten presidents met on Saturday, but no official vote took place.

The University of Wisconsin football team is set to open camp on Monday.

According to the Badgers' most recent testing numbers, 21 of 259 student-athletes have tested positive for COVID-19 since early June.

The MAC announced on Saturday the decision to postpone the football season and it will attempt to hold a spring season. The MAC is the first FBS conference to make the decision not to hold fall sports.
