Packers Veldheer reportedly placed on COVID-19 list with a positive test
GREEN BAY (WKOW)- The Packers offensive tackle Jared Veldheer has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. This news was first reported by NFL Insider for ESPN Field Yates.
The Packers signed the veteran tackle off the Colt's practice squad on Tuesday. Veldheer was set to become the first NFL player to play in the same postseason for two different teams.
ESPN's Rob Demovsky provided an update on the rest of the team.
Below are the NFL's COVID protocols for a return following positive test.
Following a positive test, if the player is asymptomatic, he can return once:
- 10 days have passed since the initial positive test; OR
- Five days have passed since the initial positive test and the player receives two consecutive negative PCR virus tests at least 24 hours apart within that five-day period
Following a positive test, if the player demonstrates symptoms, he can return once:
- At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared; AND
- At least 72 hours have passed since he last experienced symptoms
