ALBANY (WKOW) – Attorneys for an Albany 16-year-old charged in the death of his newborn baby asked a judge today to move the case to juvenile court.

Logan T. Kruckenberg-Anderson has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. He was automatically charged as an adult in Wisconsin because of the seriousness of the crime.

Kruckenberg-Anderson was arrested on Jan. 10, 2020 and is being housed at the Rock County Juvenile Detention Center.

He is charged as an adult in Green County Circuit Court, but his attorney's have requested a hearing to argue he be tried as a juvenile.

That hearing is scheduled for Feb. 12. If a judge decides to move the case to juvenile court, the proceedings and outcome would not be made public.

Investigators say they were initially told that a baby girl was born on Jan. 5 at an Albany home, then carried from the home by Kruckenberg-Anderson, the newborn's father.

Kruckenberg-Anderson allegedly told the investigators he turned the infant over to a man named Tyler, an acquaintance of his, and the child had not been seen since.

The baby was reported missing Saturday and discovered dead the following day. She had been shot in the head.

The criminal complaint states Kruckenberg-Anderson later admitted to authorities he killed the newborn and left her in the woods.
