MADISON (WKOW) - A cold start lead to a sunny morning, but snow is expected tonight.
A quick moving low is expected to bring the region snow starting this evening and will continue through the overnight hours. The forecast area will most likely see that snow beginning to fall starting in the late afternoon/early evening.
The snow will continue to fall through the overnight hours, with pockets of heavier snow falling occasionally. If you do have to travel Saturday evening/overnight that is when travel will be the toughest... getting better by the early to mid morning hours on Sunday.
If you live in a purple shaded county, your county will be placed under a winter weather advisory starting at 6pm on Saturday and will be in effect until 9am Sunday.
What are possible snow totals? Most of the forecast area will most likely pick up between 1-2" of snow while the farther southeast you live, the chances are better for trace amounts of snow to around an inch to accumulate. Farther northwest, that's where there's a better chance for higher amounts.
