Police: Employee dies after workplace accident in Janesville

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police responded to a workplace accident Friday that led to the death of an employee in Janesville.

The Janesville Police Department and paramedics were sent to a commercial business on Barberry Drive around 3:45 p.m.

Police said an employee of the business was near the loading docks assisting a semi-trailer driver when the employee was hit by a nearby skid steer. The skid steer driver was a private, contracted business hired to do snow removal on the property.

Officers reported the injured employee was taken to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The Janesville Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are working together with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on the investigation.

According to the police department, the identity of the employee is not being released pending proper notifications to the family.
