MADISON (WAOW) -- The UW System wants to encourage Wisconsin high school students to consider a future in higher education.
The system will launch a pipeline program to help guide high school students in preparing for, applying to and enrolling in one of its 13 universities.
It will involve placing career counselors at high schools to educate students.
"Career attainment, the income that often goes with that, the way that that also benefits their families and communities. The idea is to really show them those pathways," said Ann Herda-Rapp, campus executive at UW Stevens Point's Wausau Campus.
Officials hope to get the program started later this spring.
