Snow is in the forecast but so is melting, a lot of melting

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

MADISON (WKOW) - The melting will outweigh the snow the area will see.

Temperatures have been mild and they are going to remain mild over the next few days; looking ahead to the final days of February and the start of March, temperatures are going to be well above freezing which means melting.

Especially on Saturday, temperatures may climb into the mid to upper 40s! Which means our remaining snow on the ground will continue to dwindle.

But before we climb well above normal, our next round of snow must move through the region.

This latest round will not only be moving in overnight Friday into Saturday, it'll be moving quickly out of the region too.

Snow totals are going to be minimal however, upwards of an inch of snow may be possible. Because our air temperatures will be hovering around the freezing mark, the precipitation will be a rain/snow mix. There'll be initial melting too as the precipitation begins to fall.
