Police: Man found stabbed in Platteville Menards parking lot

PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -- Platteville police are investigating after finding a man stabbed in the Menards parking lot Friday night.

The Platteville Police Department responded to a call about a fight in the Walmart parking lot around 9:15 p.m.

While they responded to the incident, police said they received a call reporting a man was injured in the Menards parking lot.

Officers reported they found a man with a stab wound to his torso and a significant injury "of an unknown nature" to his leg. And the injured man was taken to Southwest Health.

According to the Platteville Police Department, they discovered after investigating the event of the two calls were related, and those involved knew each other.

The Platteville Police Department said the Grant County Sheriffs Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Platteville Fire Department, and Southwest Health EMS assisted in the incident.

Officials are investigating the incident and report there is no threat to the community.
