Many tips, but no arrests after armed robbery of VFW in Beloit

BELOIT (WKOW) — City officials in Beloit say they’ve received many tips about the armed robbery at VFW Post 2306 in Beloit, but no one has been arrested.

Police say the suspect walked into the establishment after noon Monday, pointed a handgun at several people inside and took cash from the bar.

Bar manager Christine McCormack was in the bar during the holdup. "It’s devastating that somebody would do that to the heroes of our country," she told 27 News

When reached via email, Beloit’s director of strategic communications Sarah Millard told 27 News they are continuing to follow all leads.

Police are asking for help to identify the suspect. Anyone with information can contact the Dispatch Center at 608-757-2244 or submit a tip at
