MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison children’s store will be closing its doors later this summer.
After 18 years on South Carroll Street, Capitol Kids clothing, toys and book store is going out of business.
The owner says sales have been lagging and internet shopping has affected them a lot.
She said she’ll miss connecting with the Madison community through her store front.
"We’ve gotten to know so many families, grandparents, people have been very loyal to us, been great custumers," said Capitol City owner, Peg Scholtes. "We’ve had a lot of friendships built by having this store."
The exact closing date depends on inventory, but it’s expected to be near the end of August.
The store’s going-out-of-business sale started this past weekend.
