Glass Nickel owner grateful for community response after explosion

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) — One of the businesses that was destroyed in an explosion in Sun Prairie is Glass Nickel Pizza.

The restaurant’s owner still hasn’t been back inside.

"Just kind of trying to be patient and understand that they’re trying to do their jobs," Adam Bougie told 27 News.

Bougie said he saw some work being done outside the building before the explosion happened. Luckily, none of his employees were hurt.

He says the response from people in Sun Prairie has been outstanding.

"It’s hard to see the community suffer and basically it’s also impressive to see the outpouring that I’ve seen and see the community pull together," he said.

Bougie says he’s proud of the downtown area and knows his neighbor, Cory Barr, died a hero. The firefighter was killed while responding to a gas leak right in front of his business, The Barr House, which was also destroyed.
