Small fire rekindles at Glass Nickel Pizza in Sun Prairie

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) — Police in Sun Prairie say a small fire rekindled late Wednesday night at the site of the Glass Nickel Pizza in Sun Prairie, one of several buildings destroyed by Tuesday’s explosion.

The Dane County Communications Center says the fire was reported just after 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. Officials say it was a small, spot fire that took only one firefighting unit to get under control.

The pizzeria was leveled in Tuesday’s blast that also destroyed The Barr House. Firefighter Cory Barr was killed in the explosion.
