Child hit by a car in a Lake Delton hotel parking lot dies

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) — Lake Delton police say a three-year-old from Illinois succumbed to her injuries Tuesday night after being hit by a car in the Hotel Rome parking lot shortly after 4:30 p.m. that day.

According to a release from Chief Daniel Hardman, witnesses and hotel staff performed CPR on the girl before police and first responders got there.

The child was airlifted to the hospital, but later died.

Lake Delton Police and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating.  They have said alcohol does not seem to have contributed.

Mt. Olympus owns Hotel Rome.  The company sent a statement saying "everyone at Mt. Olympus Resort is sending thoughts and prayers to the family."
