‘Slender Man’ is now in theatres

MADISON (WKOW) — "Slender Man" movie hit theatres nationwide on Friday but many in Wisconsin are not showing it.

If you recall the 2014 case in which two girls in Waukesha said the character was behind the attack on their classmate. The two girls said they did it to impress the fictional character. Only a few theatres in our area are showing the film, including Flix Brewhouse at East Towne Mall. They had a showing at 11:45 Friday morning and they also have three more showings before the end of the day. One movie-goer was surprised it was so difficult to find a screening.

"I actually was surprised because I wasn’t actually thinking about the whole situation about the movie but it really hit me when I started reading articles about it," said Jessica Kiermas.

Flix Brewhouse is the only theatre in Madison showing the movie. Other theatres in our area include Beaver Dam, Portage, Lake Delton and Beloit.
