MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison start-up won the chance to pitch its product to folks in Silicon Valley after winning at Madison’s neXXpo 2018.
The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce held the event on Thursday where 40 regional companies showcased what’s next in various fields.
"They come in and they pitch to local investors. So, we have a room full of local investors who vet and ask questions," said Zach Brandon, the president of the chamber.
Those investors then chose five of the companies to compete in the ‘Pressure Chamber.’
Brandon said the companies prove Madison can compete with other top tech cities.
"This is no longer a next city. This is a city that has arrived and people are starting to take notice and we want to make sure the community understands it, sees it and celebrates it," Brandon added.
The winner of the ‘Pressure Chamber’ was LÜM, which stands for Live Undiscovered Music.
The company made a music streaming device app that gives new and emerging artists a place to be heard and grow their fan base.
LÜM will now have the chance to travel to Silicon Valley where developers will pitch the product to investors there.
