Social Content Producer / Desk Editor – WKOW

WKOW-TV, Madison, Wisconsin’s ABC affiliate, has an immediate opening for a creative Social Content Producer / Desk Editor.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in creating engaging social media web videos and content that will draw viewers to the newscast from WKOW’s digital platforms.

This position monitors news releases, scanner traffic, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms and posts gathered information to WKOW platforms.

You will also work with reporters, anchors, photojournalists and other staff to develop successful social media approaches.

The desk editor part of this position helps coordinate crews and helps to gather enterprise and breaking content.

Must be aggressive with breaking news and a stickler for spelling and grammar. Ability to write in both broadcast and AP style is critical.

You must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment. Knowledge of non-linear editing and Photoshop will be critical. Newscast producer experience is a plus.
