VERONA (WKOW) — This weekend something at the Verona Area High School Performing Arts Center will be screaming “Feed Me!”
Just in time for Halloween, the Verona Area Community Theater is celebrating the spooky holiday with their production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Ahead of opening night Thursday, director Ryan Odorizzi and Katie Cass, who voices Audrey II, stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about their upcoming production.
The story revolves around the story of Seymour Krelborn, played by Ben Johnson, who stumbles across a new breed of plant that he names Audrey II- after his coworker crush, Audrey, played by Katie Debs. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore plant promises Seymour unending fame and fortune so long as he keeps feeding it the blood it needs to survive.
“I have wanted VACT to produce this show for a while,” says Odorizzi. “I couldn’t be more proud of all of the talent that this cast will present onstage. This show comes at the perfect time just a couple of weeks before Halloween. I think the audiences will enjoy our rendition of the show… with a slight 1980s twist and a female plant,”
VACT’s Little Shop of Horrors opens at Verona Area High School Performing Arts Center on 300 Richard Center on Thursday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. There will be additional evening shows on October 19 and 20. There are also two matinee shows on Saturday, October and Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m.
