MADISON (WKOW) – A Madison woman charged with killing of a 21-year old man in a downtown parking ramp after Freakfest pleaded not guilty Thursday to the charges.

A criminal complaint against 21-year

Kenyairra Gadson, 21, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon.

She waived her preliminary hearing and was bound over for further proceedings.

Gadson is accused of shooting Steven Villegas in the chest.  The complaint says a nine millimeter loaded magazine was found in a nearby trash can.

The complaint says Gadson claimed she simply fired a shot to stop an attack on a relative, as two opposing groups of people squared off.  The complaint states she maintains she had never seen Villegas before that encounter.

A court commissioner Thursday continued Gadson’s bail of $100,000 during a court hearing.
