MADISON (WKOW) — Do you have someone with a green thumb, or a wannabe green thumb, on your shopping list? A local gardener is sharing some ideas on what to get them this holiday season.

On Monday, Steve Stumbras of Purple Cow Organics in Waunakee joined the Wake Up Wisconsin crew to help make a list and check it twice to help gardeners get started on their growing season not long after the holidays are over.

Stumbras says for those who just can’t wait to get started on their 2019 garden: Give them what they need for seed starting in early 2019. Some ideas include an LED Habitat for seed growing, soil “media” to get started, Soil blocker, or a seed catalog.

He also recommends tools and supplies for gardeners such as a digging fork, a flat shovel, and a vegetable carrier.

Stumbras says for those who like to “garden in style” get them a pair of garden gloves or boots.

He also adds seed and plant catalogs and gardening magazines make for some great stocking stuffers.
