UPDATE (WKOW) — A crash that authorities called serious on I-41 near Theresa was cleared early Friday morning.
The stretch on I-41 southbound at mile marker 082 was blocked for more than five hours.
According to a press release, around 12 a.m., a pickup truck was driving northbound in the southbound lane, when it hit a semi-truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene and the semi-truck driver got non-life threatening injuries.
Both of the driver’s names are being withheld until next of kin is notified.
The crash is under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s office and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.

All lanes are blocked on I-41 southbound at mile marker 082 after two cars crashed at about 12 a.m.
An alternate route has been provided for travelers:
Traffic traveling SB will exit at HWY 67 and go WB, then take HWY 175 SB to HWY 28 EB back to I-41.
Officials estimate that stretch of road will be closed through the early morning hours.
