BARABOO (WKOW) — A one-of-a-kind production featuring kites, puppets, singing and dancing is coming to Baraboo.

“Ajijaak of Turtle Island,” tells the story of a young crane separated from her parents. The bird goes on her first migratory journey alone. She learns lessons along the way and uses her newfound knowledge to restore harmony and balance to the earth.

Creators say this show celebrates the richness of Indigenous cultures and shines a light on the interconnectivity of all living things.

The production, which has just wrapped up in New York City, will be at the Al. Ringling Theatre Jan. 24 and 25.

Money raised will benefit the theatre and the International Crane Foundation. Each ticket purchased helps to pay for the admission of students from Dane, Sauk and Columbia counties who will be enjoying the show during two matinee performances.
