Police arrest teen who stole truck, led officers on chase

FITCHBURG (WKOW) — A teenager was arrested Sunday night after police say he stole a truck from Middleton.

The Fitchburg Police Department started following two stolen vehicles at about 7 p.m. When the drivers realized police were behind them they began speeding and running red lights.

One of the stolen vehicles, a Ford F150 truck, hit a car on McKee Road near Seminole Highway. The driver who was hit was able to follow the truck and call police.

Officers found the stolen truck abandoned near the intersection of Stamford Place and Kinsale Drive.

Police stopped a man walking on Richardson Street and K9 Drago eventually led other officers to the suspect, 17-year-old Jermaine Coleman.

Coleman was arrested and taken to the Dane County Jail.

No one was hurt.

The other vehicle was not located.
