DARLINGTON (WKOW) — Officials are warning residents that rain could cause minor flooding later this week along Main Street in Darlington.
The National Weather Service is predicting minor flooding, but officials say there’s no way of knowing what the impact will be, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.
It’s best to be prepared, officials say.
Darlington suffered major flooding last October.
Officials say the best estimate is that the river will cause flooding in the low-lying parks and fairgrounds.
The crest prediction right now is 13.5′ Thursday evening , which means the water may creep onto Main Street.
However at 13.5′, it is not necessary to close Main Street, officials say.
