Janesville police investigate armed robbery at convenience store

JANESVILLE (WKOW) — Janesville police are searching for two men who robbed a gas station convenience store late Wednesday night.

Police say just before 11 p.m., officers responded to Shore Enterprises at 1905 East Milwaukee Street on a report of an armed robbery. They say witness accounts and video surveillance showed two men enter the store from the parking lot. When they got inside the store, one of the suspects showed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, according to police.

Police say the suspects got an “undisclosed amount of money” from the cash register and ran off towards Richard court.

Police provided the following descriptions of the suspects:

Suspect #1

Male, possibly light-skinned African American or Hispanic. Approximately 6 foot, 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black winter coat with light grey-lined hood, a forest green beanie style hat and red bandanna covering his mouth/nose area. He was also seen wearing two-toned light/dark grey work gloves, dark blue or black pants and black work boots.

Suspect # 2

Male, possibly white or Hispanic. About 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 170 pounds with a more slender build. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with red draw strings, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.
