MADISON (WKOW) — Community organizations came together Saturday to give parents tools to keep their babies safe.

At the New Baby, New Life community baby shower at Monona Terrace, parents could drop in to workshops to learn about the latest in child safety.

There was also free childcare and baby shower gifts.

“We have the safe sleep and infant crying (workshop) on how to best soothe their new baby,” said Tracy Wattron, a spokesperson with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, who helped put on the event. “We also have a session on Badger 101, Wisconsin’s state Medicaid program. And then the last session is actually on car seat safety in which every mom who attends will receive a voucher for a car seat for every one of their kids.”

WKOW is a sponsor of the event, and Wake Up Wisconsin anchor Rebecca Ribley was the host.
