UPDATE: Medical Examiner’s Office identifies 17-year-old killed in crash on I-94 near Sun Prairie

UPDATE (WKOW) —  The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 17-year-old girl who was killed in a crash on I-94 near Sun Prairie on Sunday.

They say Megan Frieske, of Shorewood, died from injuries sustained in the traffic crash.

UPDATE (WKOW) — Wisconsin State Patrol says one person was killed and four injured in the crash on I-94 in Sun Prairie Sunday.

According to a news release, the crash involved three vehicles. Officials say two vehicles traveling westbound lost control.

One vehicle went through the median and crashed into an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound.

Officials say one passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Shorewood, was killed in the crash and another 17-year-old girl from Shorewood was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Three occupants received non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE (WKOW) — Wisconsin State Patrol says that one person has died after a crash on I-94 in Sun Prairie Sunday.

Fire officials say two people were thrown from a vehicle and several more were hurt.

According to Sun Prairie fire investigators, multiple vehicles were involved in the crash on I-94. The interstate was briefly shut down as emergency responders were working at the crash site.

Responders from Sun Prairie, Madison, Marshall, Cottage Grove and Wisconsin State Patrol all were called to the crash.

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — Wisconsin State Patrol says three people were severely injured in a crash on I-94 eastbound near Cottage Grove Sunday.

According to Dane County Communications, the call came in at 11:08.

State Patrol says a vehicle crossed over the median, striking a vehicle traveling eastbound nearly head-on. A Med Flight helicopter was initially called to the scene, but canceled.

I-94 eastbound lanes were closed for several hours, but have since been reopened.
