National Weather Service offers free storm spotter training seminars

MADISON (WKOW) – If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to observe and report severe weather to help keep your community safe, then this class is for you!

The National Weather Service (NWS) is offering multiple, free seminars across southern Wisconsin.

After attending a two hour class, you will have learned about severe weather safety, how to spot a tornado, and how to pass along reports to local news stations and to the NWS. From there, meteorologists will publicize your reports to keep others safe!

If weather interests you, please consider attending. For more information, contact the NWS at (262) 965-2074.
