UPDATE (WKOW) — Authorities have identified the man who fled from a crash in the Town of Blooming Grove Monday.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says Ceasar D. Enciso, 20, of Fitchburg is tentatively charged with eluding and obstructing.

Enciso will also be cited for failure to notify police of an accident, unreasonable and imprudent speed, and failure to maintain control.

TOWN OF BLOOMING GROVE (WKOW) — A part of Fair Oaks Avenue in the Town of Blooming Grove was closed early Monday as crews repair a utility pole after a crash.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says around 12:05 a.m. a deputy stopped a 2004 GMC Envoy as part of a regular traffic stop. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver started driving away and subsequently crashed into a utility pole about a third of a mile away from the traffic stop. After the crash, the driver ran from the vehicle.

Sheriff’s officials say the crash resulted in the utility pole being snapped in half and live wires exposed.

They say the driver has not been located and anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s office through the non-emergency dispatch number.

Fair Oaks Avenue between Chicago and Webb Avenues is closed down while crews repair the damage to the utility pole, according to Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

The road will be closed until at least 7 am this morning, according to sheriffs’ officials.
