Concerns measles could spread to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — As a measles outbreak grows across the country, there’s growing concern that it could spread to Wisconsin.

That’s why Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is offering vaccination clinics at 23 of its facilities.

The Milwaukee area may be particularly vulnerable to measles.

Health officials say there are thousands of children and adults in that area who are not vaccinated.

“We are at very high risk of having it spread like wildfire,” said Dr. Jorge Ramillo from the Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.

Doctors are reaching out to parents urging them to get their children vaccinated.
