Video: Ducklings fall through storm grate, fire department comes to rescue

JANESVILLE (WKOW) — A brood of ducklings that fell into the storm drain May 2 were rescued by the Janesville fire department after a passerby saw them fall in and alerted firefighters.

The ducklings were seen going into the drain by Logan Cassidy, who called the fire department for help, according to a post on the Janesville Fire Department Facebook page.

The drain was approximately 3 feet deep, and firefighters used a gas meter to be sure it was safe to go in for the rescue.

All eight ducklings were recovered uninjured, and they were reunited with their mother near a pond adjacent to the parking lot.
