Public health officials looking for dog that bit hiker in Town of Montrose

TOWN OF MONTROSE (WKOW) — Public health officials are looking for information about a dog that they say bit a hiker near Belleville Tuesday.

Public Health of Madison and Dane County says it happened around 12:45 p.m on the Ice Age Trail near Frenchtown Road in the Town of Montrose.

They say the dog is described as a medium-sized, longish haired dog, possibly a cattle dog or Border collie type dog with perky ears. They say it’s mostly white in color with some spots and gray around the head and neck.

The dog was with about ten dogs appearing to be mostly of mixed breeds who were being walked by two white females possibly in their 40’s or 50’s, according to public health officials. The dogs and females were possibly in a maroon colored minivan.

Anyone with information about the dog is asked to call authorities at (608) 255-2345 and asked for the animal services officer.
