DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — As America’s Dairyland, Wisconsinites are no stranger to the importance of the dairy industry.
The Dairy Alliance said June Dairy Month was started in the 1930s to get people to buy more milk during the summer months. It has since evolved into a time to celebrate the industry that gives us so much.
Wisconsin dairy farmers help fuel the state’s economy, generating more than $40 billion each year, according to the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin.
Industry leaders recommend celebrating June Dairy Month by attending one the many dairy breakfasts hosted by Wisconsin farmers.
- Dane County Breakfast on the Farm, hosted by Klondike Farms, June 8
- Rock County Dairy Breakfast, hosted by Kersten Farm, June 8
- Columbia County Moo Day Brunch, Hosted by Kessenich Dairy, June 15
