Delivery driver robbed outside of Madison hotel, police say

MADISON (WKOW) — Police say a 23-year-old delivery driver was the victim of a robbery in Madison early Saturday morning.

According to Police Chief Mike Koval, a driver for Ian’s Pizza was parked in front of the AC hotel at 1 N. Webster St. around 2:45 a.m. when two suspects entered his vehicle.

The victim reportedly ran from his vehicle while the suspects stole a bag of money and began running back to their own car.

Police say the suspects dropped their keys while fleeing, which the victim then grabbed and run with towards the AC hotel.

According to Chief Koval, the suspects chased after the victim, and a struggle took place over the keys and money.

Officials say the victim ultimately recovered the money, and the suspects escaped in their vehicle after recovering their keys.

Police say one of the suspects was wearing a ski mask. No further details have been provided at this time.
