MADISON (WKOW) — A Middleton company honored first responders Saturday, by helping raise money for their annual charity softball game.

Fire, police, and EMS members will compete in the Battle of the Badges softball game to help children with health issues on August 10.

The Bruce Company helped raise money for the game at an event on Saturday.

Crews gave emergency vehicle tours, CPR demonstrations, and showed off the new Middleton K9 unit.

Fire officials say events like this are important to give back.

“Participation from the community in buying brats, coming out to the game, supporting the family, fundraisers at the area restaurants has been very successful to raise funds for the families,” Battalion Chief Matt Reigel said.

The Bruce Company hopes to make Middleton First Responders Day a yearly event.
